Website Design: Linda Durham

We had the pleasure of working with the wonderful Linda Durham. Linda's professional and personal life centers on art, artists, global travel, and humanitarian causes. She has just written and published a memoir, Still Moving, telling the adventure filled life she has lived and the lessons that she has learned along the way.
She wanted us to help her create a website that was classic, clean, and easy to navigate. We developed a color palette that matched the look and feel of her book, and started working on a design that would highlight all her photos, accomplishments, and of course her book Still Moving.

Linda had so many beautiful photos from throughout her life and documenting her travels, so we tried to incorporate as many as possible on the pages of the site while keeping a clean design. She had this really striking image of her two raven tattoos on her shoulders, which are significant to her book and her life. We decided to use this image as a focal point and banner on her home page.

Along with photos, she also had many great quotes pulled from her book and others that we featured throughout her site.

We also created a page specifically for Still Moving. where we added her editorial book reviews, and links to purchase the book at a local bookstore or online.
One thing that Linda wanted to highlight was the table of contents from the book, where she has very clever and interesting names for her chapters. We created a clickable image that appears like an open book with the table of contents in it. We also included the dedication from the memoir and an image of Linda's father, whom she affectionately dedicated the book.

Linda has also done many interviews, podcasts, and other press related events that we share on her website blog to keep her audience in the loop. She also continues to write blog posts on different topics that populate the rest of her blog.

WHO DO WE BECOME when we've lost the things that defined us? When Linda Durham shuttered her internationally acclaimed art gallery after thirty-three years, she found herself navigating a sea of bewilderment. Risk-taking had long been the tour de force of her life. But had she failed, or had she succeeded? Change always comes at a price.

Through delicious and dark, scintillating and salacious true tales of planned and accidental intersections with the exotic and quixotic, Durham pits her real self against her ideal self in a lifelong journey as serpentine as the Mobius strip her father made for her more than seven decades ago.

On stage and off, Durham creates and is created by story. Raven spirit tattoos on both shoulders, wanderlust in her eyes, she danced in ceremony with tribal Kachin women, chanted "Free Gaza" from aboard the seized Audacity of Hope ship, was cured by a Voodoo priest in a Haitian cemetery, slogged through the tempestuous lands' end at Tierra del Fuego, and breathlessly summitted Kilimanjaro.
Everywhere this around-the-world traveler wandered, she chased the ghosts of her own ignorance and arrogance, culled clarity from confusion, and dug herself out from the crushing numbness of defeat.

Durham unabashedly pulls back the curtain on loves lost and found and on a life lived richly and openly amid fair fields and foreign wars, in places sacred and profane. Her incurable optimism gives inspiration and voice to the struggles of women worldwide, empowers those of us who feel derailed by a world out of control, and frees us to open the door to love.
